If you receive a Zoom error code 4700 (OAuth), this means your browser has disabled or restricted third-party cookies.
Zoom error code 4700 may appear when accessing the Zoom integration within Canvas on certain browsers.
Safari
We recommend installing and using Google Chrome instead of Safari for a more reliable experience.
The error may be resolved on Safari by doing the following:
- Click 'Safari' at the very top-left corner of your screen.
- Under the dropdown menu, select 'Preferences'.
- Once in the Preferences menu, select 'Privacy'.
- Next to 'Cookies and website data' uncheck the 'Block all cookies' box.
Once done, refresh the Zoom page on Canvas and you should now have access. Please note that the error may reappear in the future due to Safari updates.
Chrome
The error may appear on Chrome after an update. To resolve it, do the following:
- Ensure you are on the page with the error code 4700 (OAuth Invalid redirect url).
- Click the crossed-out eyeball icon near the top-right of your browser next to the star icon.
- Under the dropdown menu, click the toggle to the right of 'Third-party cookies' so that it is enabled (blue).
- Click on the page outside of the dropdown menu, and it should automatically refresh.
Once completed, this should resolve the error and allow you to access the Zoom page in any of your Canvas courses.
