Designed for students with no prior knowledge of Russian, the Beginner I course teaches how to communicate in simple everyday situations.
At the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Say hello and good-bye to different types of people (someone the same age as you and someone older or more senior)
 - Introduce themselves and others and provide basic personal information
 - Respond to an introduction
 - Ask and respond to basic yes/no and either/or questions
 - Respond to who, what, when, where questions
 - Ask who, what, when, where questions
 - Spell their name and other simple nouns
 - Tell someone what you study or what your job is (or those of someone else)
 - Ask questions to gather basic information about someone else
 - Say or write something about the members of their family and ask about someone’s family
 - Say or write something about friends/classmates/coworkers
 - Answer questions about what they like and dislike
 - List their favorite free time activities and those they do not like
 - Answer questions about what they are doing
 - Readily recognize and use the numbers from 1 to 100
 - List items they see every day
 - Give their phone number, home address, and e-mail address
